About Christian Book Standard
Christian Book Standard is an independent standards body founded in 2026 because readers increasingly could not tell whether a Christian book was honestly represented.
AI can now produce publishable text, images, and translations at scale; fabricated author profiles and false citations can look plausible; and retailer disclosure systems are not designed to give readers a public, edition-level integrity record. We built a standard and registry that make the relevant facts checkable.
Scope
The Standard applies to Christian books published in English, in any country. Editions in other languages will be covered by future versions of the Standard. Authors, publishers, and readers anywhere may use the registry and submit editions on the same terms.
What we do
We publish the Christian Book Integrity Standard, maintain the Christian Book Registry, and certify editions that meet the standard.
What we will not do
We do not rate theology, rank books, sell books, or publish books. Any publishing activity by people affiliated with us is conducted separately, submitted on the same terms as everyone else, and marked as affiliated on the record.
Governance
Certification decisions are made by Christian Book Standard reviewers, never by submitters. Reviewers recuse from titles in which they have any interest. Our complaint and appeal process is published. See Governance and Independence.
Funding
Certification is currently free. When fees are introduced they will pay for verification, never for outcome, and the standard itself will remain free to read and implement.
