Before you begin

Before you begin, have ready: final manuscript or files; ISBN for this edition; publisher or imprint name and a contact; the translation used for Scripture quotations; a list of every printed endorsement with the endorser’s name and affiliation; and, if you are a first-time submitter, a government-issued photo ID for the identity check.

The submission form asks for: Title · Subtitle · Edition · ISBN(s) · Format(s) · Author display name · Pen name? (Y/N) · Publisher/imprint · Publisher contact · Scripture translation(s) used · Endorsements (name, affiliation, contact) · Upload files · AI Use Disclosure (inline form) · Author Attestation (inline, signable) · Optional reader disclosures: content advisory; tradition or stance (self-described, opt-in); intended audience.

By submitting you confirm that the attestation is true. A false attestation results in revocation, noted publicly on the record.

The online submission form opens at the next stage of this site. Until then, publishers may begin with a Publisher Verified listing.

How Certification Works

  1. Submit

Upload the final files, provide the ISBN and publisher contact, sign the Author Attestation, and complete the AI Use Disclosure. First-time authors also complete identity verification.

  2. Identity

We confirm you are a real person once, using a government ID and a live check, then delete the ID image. Pen names are welcome; we hold the link confidentially and the public record says “pen name — identity verified.”

  3. Automated audit

Scripture references are checked against the translation you name. Citations are checked for existence and accuracy. Quotations are compared to sources. Endorsers and credentials are checked. The text is compared against known works.

  4. Human review

A reviewer examines every flag and samples unflagged material according to published sampling rules. No book is failed on automated output alone.

  5. Decision

Certified; Returned for correction (fix and resubmit once within 60 days); or Not certified, with reasons.

  6. Record and seal

Your edition receives a permanent record number, a QR code that resolves to that record, and the public status “Certified.” A license to print the seal on the book becomes available once the certification-mark structure is cleared.

How long it takes

Typical turnaround will be published here once the first certification cycle has run.

What it costs

Nothing at present. See Fees for what changes when fees are introduced.

Three AI classes

Human-written: you composed the substantive final prose; AI may have helped with research, editing, or checking. AI-assisted: you composed the underlying content and AI materially edited, reorganized, or refined it, but no substantive final passage originated in AI. AI-generated: AI originated substantive final prose that remains in the edition; final AI-generated images or translation content are disclosed separately. None of these automatically fails certification. Misrepresenting which one applies does.
