Terms of Use
These terms govern use of christianbookstandard.org, the Christian Book Registry, and the public data and API.
The site and the registry
The site publishes the Christian Book Integrity Standard and the public records of the Christian Book Registry. Records describe editions and their certification status under a named version of the Standard. A record is a statement about accountability, disclosure, and sampled source integrity; it is not a theological endorsement, a quality rating, or a recommendation.
Using the data
Registry data is free for non-commercial and commercial use with attribution to “Christian Book Standard” and a link to the record. Data may not be presented as a rating, ranking, or endorsement, and may not be used to imply that Christian Book Standard endorses any book, author, publisher, or retailer. A key is required for bulk access.
The seal and the name
The seal, the name Christian Book Standard, and record numbers may be used only in connection with an edition that holds a matching certified record, and only after the certification-mark structure is cleared. Any other use is seal misuse and may be reported and noted publicly.
Submissions and complaints
Submitters confirm that every statement in the Author Attestation and AI Use Disclosure is true. A false statement results in revocation, noted publicly on the record. Complaints are reviewed under the published procedure; the substance of a complaint may be shared with the author or publisher with the complainant’s identity withheld, if the complainant consents.
No warranty
Certification is reasonable assurance under the published audit procedure, not a guarantee that every sentence or fact in a book is error-free. The site and its data are provided as they are.
Changes
These terms may be revised; the date below changes when they are. Continued use after a revision is acceptance of the revised terms.
Last revised 3 September 2026.
