What Every Certified Author Signs
Certification requires the accountable author to sign these six statements. They are reproduced here exactly as they are signed.
Statement of Christian Belief
- There is one God.
- God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three persons, one God. Not three names for the same person, and not three separate gods.
- Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He was not created and has always existed.
- Jesus was born of Mary, died on the cross, rose bodily from the dead, and will come again.
- The Holy Spirit is God, not a force or an influence.
- This book is written as a Christian work for Christian readers, and its purpose is not to argue against Christian faith.
What the signature says
I, [legal name], as the accountable party for [title], edition [edition], ISBN [ISBN], affirm the six statements above.
I understand that Christian Book Standard checks that I signed this under a verified identity. It does not judge whether my book's teaching is correct, and certification is not a theological endorsement. If this statement was untrue when I signed it, or if the book contradicts one of these six points, certification can be revoked under the published procedure.
